Sunday, March 30, marks the restart of the historic train season in Lombardy. This initiative comes from the Department of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Lombardy Region, in collaboration with Fondazione Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, FS Treni Turistici Italiani, Ferrovie Nord, and numerous cultural associations at the forefront of promoting railway tourism and Ferrovie Nord Milano.

The 2025 calendar features 24 itineraries with over 6,000 available seats, all departing from Milan. What's more, there will be the iconic trains pulled by steam locomotives, but also by pre-war electric locomotives. Due to popular demand, there will also be services with the legendary ETR 252 "Arlecchino", which will travel on the Milan - Desenzano - Verona route for the "Frecce Tricolori Air Show" on May 18 and for the Cremona nougat festival in autumn. Numerous runs are planned on the Palazzolo – Paratico Sarnico tourist line, with steam trains connecting Milan to the shores of Lake Iseo and the lower Sebino area. Not to be missed, on May 25, is the trip to Lomello, a village rich in history, with the opportunity to choose one of six guided itineraries to discover the culture, nature, and flavors of Lomellina. The extensive and varied program renews a project that has for years promoted railway culture and sustainable mobility in Lombardy through timeless travel experiences that attract thousands of tourists.
