FS Treni Turistici Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato
Assistance services for people with disabilities and reduced mobility
At stations, assistance services are provided by RFI - Rete Ferroviaria Italiana - and are aimed at "persons with disabilities" or "persons with reduced mobility" (PRM), namely:
people who use wheelchairs;
people with limb problems or walking difficulties;
elderly people;
pregnant women;
people with visual disabilities;
people with hearing disabilities and/or communication difficulties;
people with mental and/or intellectual disabilities.
In cases where the person requiring assistance services is not self-sufficient, these services may be subject to the presence of a personal assistant at the station or an accompanying person during the journey. For more information on PRM assistance services and the stations where they are available, click here. FS Treni Turistici Italiani guarantees assistance services on board its trains subject to availability, but due to their particular configuration, limitations may exist. Please consult the dedicated sections in the General Conditions of Carriage for all detailed information.
Disability Card
The European Disability Card (also known as the Disability Card) is a document in card format or digitally (available in the "Wallet" section of the IO App) that certifies a disability.
If you have a Disability Card bearing the letter "A" on the front, you can benefit from free travel for your companion on certain classes/service types by contacting FS Treni Turistici Italiani Customer Care at least 24 hours before the desired train departure time.
