Lombardy, the historic train season starts again

The historic train season in Lombardy starts again next Sunday, March 30th.

The initiative is by the Department of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Lombardy Region in collaboration with the Fondazione Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, FS Treni Turistici Italiani, Ferrovie Nord and numerous cultural associations at the forefront of promoting rail tourism and Ferrovie Nord Milano.

The 2025 calendar includes 24 itineraries for over 6,000 available seats, all departing from Milan. In addition, there will be no shortage of iconic trains hauled by steam locomotives, but also by pre-war electric locomotives. By popular demand, circulations are also planned with the legendary ETR 252 “Arlecchino” that will travel on the Milan - Desenzano - Verona route on the occasion of the “Frecce Tricolori Air Show” on May 18 and for the Cremona nougat festival. Numerous trips are planned on the Palazzolo - Paratico Sarnico tourist line, with steam trains that will connect the Milanese capital to the shores of Lake Iseo and the lower Sebino. The dense and varied programming renews a project that for years has spread the culture of railways and soft mobility in Lombardy through timeless travel experiences that see the participation of thousands of tourists. Tickets to travel aboard historic trains in Lombardy can be purchased on all Trenitalia sales channels, ticket offices and apps.
